Looking at Game of Thrones (#Boffo)

So I wrote a lot about Game of Thrones. That first season summary was written on my phone, while my wife slept, after we’d just finished re-watching season one in preparation for the final season. It was done entirely out of love for the show, and out of love for giving shit to the things I love. And because on second viewing, Ned Stark is clearly a fucking idiot.

I posted it to my social media circle, and a few people said, “Do one for every season!” And I thought that sounded like fun. And it was. So I wrote summaries of every season, mostly on my phone, mostly while my wife slept after we’d finished each season. As I continued to summarize, I found myself analyzing / critiquing the show more, and by the time I hit season five, it was no longer just summary.

Anyway, people seemed to like them. They got shared around a little bit, and I had people asking when the next one would come out. Then season eight happened, and it provoked a huge response, and anyway, now I have this thing that’s just shy of 16,500 words, which is what you’d call “inconveniently long.” It’s not getting published anywhere (it’s already received four rejections, one of them stating, “No,” which just made me laugh), and honestly, I’m fine with that. This was something I did for the love of doing it.

So, for the time being anyway, it’s going to hang out here on this site, as a massive PDF for anyone who wants to give it a read. I’ve revised the individual parts of it for clarity, and to remove the bits that were clearly written because it was only being posted to social media. It’s a good read. Definitely worth a laugh or two, and maybe it’ll give you a couple things to think about. You can find it here:
