Weekly Check In – 9/18/2019

Nine weeks out from surgery, and here are the numbers I care about:

  • Weight: 329
  • Blood Sugar: 119

The rate of loss seems to have slowed a bit, but:

  1. I haven’t been nearly as active as I should (it’s difficult when you’re exhausted a lot of the time).
  2. I’m technically supposed to be taking 600-800 calories a day now. I don’t think I’ve ever gone over 700 though.
  3. 3.4 pounds in a week is great. Prior to the surgery, there’d have been victory dances and a parade.

Slightly cooler weather has been very much appreciated. The schedule that’s been causing me anxiety starts this Thursday. For the last month this has been my Tuesday / Thursday:

  • 7:15-9:20: English 1A
  • 10:00-11:00: Writing Lab
  • 12:15-2:20: English 1A

Then I go home and almost always nap. Starting next week I add the following:

  • 4:00-5:50: English 107

So that’s a day of teaching that starts at 7am and ends at 6pm. Without caffeine. Good news is last Thursday it was 100+ degrees, and after I finished teaching I drove to two different colleges to sign contracts and pick up parking permits, and I didn’t finish until 5, and I was fine. So I think I got this.

I’m going to be so fucking tired.

I’m happy. And here’s why:

Annette sent that to me last night. The left I’ve posted here before, but the right is from very close to where I was when I started all this in 2016. I look at it and cringe, but I love seeing the change.

Here, have a graphic:
